Vigobyte de Mexico, S.A. de C.V. is a subsidiary of CMC Magnetics Corporation. Vigobyte is one of the 16 plants which integrates one the most efficient consortiums in the optical media.

VIGOBYTE de Mexico is one of the largest 3.5” Diskette manufacturers, and from early year 2000, one of the largest CD-ROM manufacturers in Latin America. As the last acquisition from parent company CMC Magnetics Corporation outside of Taiwan, VIGOBYTE operates in Tijuana, Mexico in 2 sites. Our target markets: North, Central and South America. Our products & services: 3.5” Diskettes, CD-ROM (Mastering, Replication & Packaging), CD-R (Manufacturing, Printing & Packaging) and DVD (Mastering, Replication & Packaging).

As well as importing CD-R, CD-RW and DVD-R disks, and Packaging Materials from CMC, we are also able to offer a printing and packing facility. We are capable of running “multi-source components” projects. These components can be supplied from multiple vendors located world-wide in order to obtain the bests prices for our clients.

We are strategically located, just a few minutes from one of the largest markets of the world in the optical storage field, USA. Furthermore, Vigobyte is located just a few minutes away from the city of San Diego, South California. This city is a dynamic port of entry and gateway of import and exports for millions of products from all over the world.

Industrial Site Profile
Vigobyte became part of CMC family in February 1998. Ever since, an increasing number of changes have been made, either in plant’s lay-out, machinery and equipment, and production processes. Organization has leaded the plant from an obsolete industrial facility to an efficient manufacturing site.

Our building, Vigobyte I has 104 k. ft. extension, where mastering, molding, disc printing, and packaging take place in one of the most optimal distribution that could have been done for the site. The facility allows not only to produce 3.5” Floppy Diskettes, but to provide complete CD-ROM/DVD-ROM turn-key service (from mastering to final packaging).

Vigobyte II has 108 k. ft. facility is capable of producing 20 million units of CD-R.
