Each master source goes through an intensive receiving inspection by our Pre-Mastering department. The master disc is tested on an image verifier (ECLIPSE) and a disc analyzer to ensure that the quality of data meets our customers’ specifications.
A disc of polished glass coated with a photo-sensitive emulsion which is then burned with a laser beam recorder from the supplied input media. After exposure, the data is developed and saved as "pits and lands” (the digital ones and zeros). This is now called glass master.
The next step in stamper replication is where the glass master is electroplated with nickel, then separated from the master. This forms a negative known as the "Father" stamper. For large runs the "Father" is plated to produce a "Mother", and from a "Mother" many "Sons.”
Supported by an experienced staff and an outstanding R&D group from CMC Magnetics. Vigobyte is able to offer all our clients quality mastering services for our in-house replication and external replicators.
